Orange County has begun to update its Comprehensive Plan for the first time in 25 years. This document guides all other County plans as well as decisions made by the various County boards, including the Board of County Commissioners. The County is at a critical crossroads economically, socially, and environmentally, and this Update is an exceptional opportunity to bring about important changes in how the county manages new growth and development.
A diverse coalition of community groups have come together to create and endorse a vision statement for Orange County’s Comprehensive Plan that brings together economic, social, and environmental principles in a way that truly promotes a sustainable future for our county. The Coalition is committed to ensuring that the County Commissioners balance these goals in the updated Comprehensive Plan.

The coalition does not endorse the Orange County 2030 Comprehensive Plan that was adopted by the Board of County Commissioners on November 18, 2008 because the quality of the public participation process was diminished.
