The Village Project has been the primary organizing force behind Car Free Day in the Triangle region over the last two years. In addition to getting over 1700 people to pledge to go without their car on September 22nd for two years in a row, Car Free Day in the Triangle has gained national attention from CNN, National Geographic News (see page 2) , and KBOO-FM in Portland, Oregon.
